Yvonne Chandler

Yvonne J. Chandler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science (DIS) in the College of Information at the University of North Texas where she is the Director of the Law Librarianship program.  Dr. Chandler has experienced significant success receiving more than $5.5 million dollars in grants awarded by the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) - Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program. Through her efforts more than 300 librarians earned degrees funded by more than $5.5 million dollars Thirty percent of all recipients were from diverse backgrounds and/or students of color. In 2016 she received theDEMCO/ALA Black Caucus Award for Excellence in Librarianship from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association.  She is a co-author of Celebrating Diversity - A Legacy of Minority Leadership in the American Association of Law Libraries.  She was the 2014 President of the Texas Library Association, the largest state library professional association in the United States.
