A panel of UNT faculty will discuss their university-sponsored OER and open textbook projects. We'll consider how these projects were conceived, created, and implemented in the classroom and what the outcomes, benefits, and drawbacks might be.

John Edward Martin (UNT) is the Director of Scholarly Communication at the UNT Libraries in Denton, TX. He administers the Libraries open publishing platforms, OER and open textbook grant programs and project support, their scholarly impact and data management planning services, and general scholarly communication outreach and educational programming.

  • Director of the Law Librarianship Program and Associate Professor of Information Science

Sarah Ryan is Director of the Law Librarianship program and Associate Professor of Information Science at UNT. She is an attorney admitted to practice in Connecticut, specializing in veterans' law. She holds a PhD in Rhetorical Criticism and master's degrees in Library Science and Interpersonal Communication from Texas Woman's University and Ohio University.
