Session 1: Envisioning an Open Educational Future: The Texas OER Founding Fellows Program

About This Session

This panel will discuss the work of the THECB's 2024 OER Founding Fellows Program from the perspective of three of its participants, each from different institutions of higher education in Texas. We'll talk about the goals and vision of the program, our individual interests in participating, and how we envision this program helping institutions like ours develop more robust, sustainable, and ethical OER support and leadership. We'll share some of our own journeys in higher education and how we came to work specifically with Open Education and OER in our current roles. We'll discuss how the particular needs of our institutions and communities have shaped our approach to OER and what we see as its future on our campuses. We'll also share some of the recent work of the OER Founding Fellows in designing a curriculum for developing OER leadership and support in other institutions of higher education in Texas.
