The unfolding saga of the SCOAP3 project to flip the literature of high energy physics to Open Access has been a bellwhether for OA efforts internationally.  This presentation by the leader of the SCOAP3 initiatve will review the biggest findings to date, its sustainability, and what it bodes for the future of scholarly communication efforts.
