News and Announcements
As UNT and the UNT Libraries have been responding to the rapidly-changing coronavirus situation, we've been considering what all of this might mean for our upcoming Open Access Symposium. Due to the uncertainty around travel, self-quarantines, and business lockdowns by state and local governments, we've decided that it's in the best interest of all our participants to cancel the symposium now and allow everyone time to adjust their schedules as needed. On March 25 the Society of Southwest Archives (SSA) announced that their annual meeting would also be canceled: see announcement at the bottom of the lodging and travel page on the website of the SSA annual meeting.
Stay tuned in case we are able to reschedule the symposium for later this year!
The 11th annual UNT Open Access Symposium will be held May 22, 2020, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center. This year’s program will feature presentations and interactive sessions led by teaching faculty, librarians, and publishers from the University of North Carolina, Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, Smith College, the University of Waterloo, and more.
Registration is just $105 this year to attend this one-day event and events organized that day by the Society for Southwest Archivists, including the evening reception.
We hope to see you there!
